Dustclaim is a short turn-based strategy game on a real map of Mars. Land a small colony, then race rival colonies for polar ice and metal on a rotating globe of hex cells.
Merge Colonists into Drillers, Rangers and Titans, cut enemy regions off from their water, and upgrade your bases. A match takes 10 to 20 minutes.

Claim Mars. You win when you own half of the land (40% with 3 or 4 players), when every rival has lost all bases, or when you hold the most land after round 30.
Your connected cells form a region with one base. Each region has its own bank of metal and water, filled every turn by its land. If an enemy cuts a region in two, the part without the base starts a new, empty bank.
Buy a Colonist for 25 metal on your empty land. Move one unit onto another to merge them: Colonist 1, Driller 2, Ranger 3, Titan 4. A unit can move anywhere inside its region, and take one cell next to it per turn.
Gold cells are free land. Red cells are enemy land you can attack. To take a cell, your unit must be stronger than its defence: the strongest unit, base or Shield on it or next to it, plus 1 on highlands. Defence never goes above 4.
Every unit drinks water each turn: 1, 2, 4 or 8 by level. If a region cannot pay, all its units die and leave rust dunes. Polar ice and buried ice give water; the box at the top left warns you in red.
Tap your base to upgrade it: Colony (60 metal) and Spire (120 metal) each give +2 water per turn and +1 defence. A Shield generator (35 metal) protects its cell and its neighbours with defence 2 and needs no water.
Dust plains give 1 metal. Highlands (small peaks) give 1 metal and +1 defence. Polar ice (icebergs) gives 2 water. Buried ice (frost and a drill rig) gives 1 metal and 1 water. Rich deposits (rocks with shiny ore) give 3 metal. Ancient ruins (a broken stone gate) give 10 metal once. Canyons can never be owned.
